Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations through CSCs during October 2-5, 2019
CSC SPV is conducting a campaign during October 2-5, 2019 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and propagate his message of peace, non-violence and cleanliness.
Under the campaign, all CSCs should carry out the following activities during the period:
October 2: Spread the message of cleanliness & non-violence
• Celebrate Gandhi Jayanti by inviting prominent citizens and community members to the function and carry out a pledge to uphold spirit of non-violence.
• Conduct Swachhta Abhiyan at places close to their CSC, for example, school, bus stand, market place, etc.
• Create awareness on banning single use plastic and mobilize citizens to collect plastic waste from their surroundings and ensure proper disposal.
October 3: Promote health & hygiene in the community
• Conduct awareness drives in the community to stress upon the issue of menstrual health and hygiene. Distribute Stree Swabhiman sanitary napkins in the community and schools.
October 4: Empower citizens through Digital Literacy
• Conduct drives for enrolling candidates from marginalized groups like OBC/SC/ST and PwD under PMGDISHA scheme.
October 5: Observe National Pension Day
Enrol farmers, unorganized sector workers, and citizens, particularly from marginalized communities, under PMKMY, PMSY M, and Ayushman Bharat.
