ALL CSCs ACROSS THE COUNTRY WILL BECOME BCS OF BANKS
During the launch of “CSC Wi-Fi Choupal in 5000 Villages” and “Delivery of Railway Tickets through CSCs” in New Delhi, Hon’ Minister of Finance, Railways & Coal Shri Piyush Goyal appreciated the works done by VLEs in sparking digital revolution in rural India.
On the occasion Hon’ Minister announced that now, 2.90 lakh CSCs will be able to work as Business Correspondents (BCs). He said “Telemedicine service through CSC can be a milestone in Indian health services.
At 8,000 railways stations, we shall be able to open CSCs, promote telemedicine and Jan Aushadhi. Thus, 2.90 lakh CSCs would be able to work as Digital Doctor.
An agreement was signed with IRCTC for enabling sale of tickets through all the CSCs across the country. Even for the sale of unreserved tickets, an MoU was signed between Railways, Ministry and CSCs.
Railways will also support CSCs in promoting menstrual health and hygiene and sale of sanitary pads to girls and women in rural India.” He asked to involve CSCs in Ayushman Bharat program-promoting healthcare for all.
